- I need a 16550 UART card for my upraded (28.8) modem. The big computer
- store that I visit only has the SIIG brand cards. Although the box says
- the card has a "16550" UART, it doesn't say whether it's a 16550"A", etc.
- This may be important to know, given that I have seen some postings which
- say that the original plain old 16550 was buggy.
-
- In general, how can one tell which version of the 16550 is included in a
- card? In particular, which version of the 16550 does SIIG use?
-
- Thank you.
